Francien can be called the cat artist of The Netherlands. With her delicate colored pencil technique, she is able to accurately the character of the cats she draws and not only the appearance.

Francien grew up in an artistic family. As a child she loved nothing more than drawing, and that is still the case today. “Drawing is as important to me as eating and drinking, it is my life,” says Francien
After her training at the Rietveld Academy, Francien van Westering mainly worked as a freelance illustrator.
Columns and books
Francien skews and draws for the Dutch women’s magazine Margriet for almost 15 years a weekly column about her experiences with her cats. Nowadays Francien still draws
always regularly for different magazines. She has also written many books about cat behavior.
Franciens cats
Francien’s drawings are extremely popular and have been used for years for a wide variety of products: agendas, calendars, cards, many hobby products, embroidery kits, puzzles, etc. After 25 years, Francien’s Cat Agenda is still in the top three of best-selling agendas.
